Cue the big movie trailer voice-over artist: “Coming soon… to Timmins Cinema Six… more luxury seating!”
General manager Keith Nixon confirms that just like theatre number 4, theatre 3 is set for renovations. The number of seats will be cut in half, from 192 to 96, but it’s rarely sold out, anyway.
“(The new seats coming in) are all luxury recliners,” Nixon notes, “so they all have power buttons that you can put your feet up and sit back and enjoy a movie.

“Theatre 3 will be shut down for a week, for them to remove the chairs that are there currently, clean the floor, paint the floor, tidy some things up, put some new electrical down for the seating, put the seats in. It’ll take about a week.”
Luxury does come at a price. It’s $14.00 for adults instead of $10.00, and $10.00 for seniors and kids, up from $7.00.
Even before theatre 3 is converted, by Friday, you’ll be able to reserve your seat in any of the six theatres.
