Timmins Police Service is continuing its investigation into a motor vehicle pedestrian accident late yesterday morning. The accident took place on Riverside Drive between Joseph and Royale Streets at 11:40 am. Police say a pick-up truck driver who had the right of way struck a pedestrian who elected to cross the roadway.
A 23-year-old female was transported to hospital with serious injuries. Police credit people in the area for helping to provide first aid care and eyewitness accounts. A section of Riverside Drive was closed for several hours.
Timmins Police are looking for motorists who were around the area at the time of the accident or in the turn lane on Riverside Drive.
