Meeting demand for things that keep you cool

The value of home air conditioning is abundantly clear this week, in the heat and humidity.

Canadian Tire Timmins general manager Greg Beattie says his store stocks fans, AC units and anything to use to stay cool.

He says the store was well stocked to begin the season.

“If you can remember last year, our peak heat week came maybe a couple weeks ago,” he recalls. “So we were ready for that, and obviously came a couple weeks later this year, so we were ready for it.”

Beattie notes that good sellers in the category of things to help you stay cool are also small wading pools for certain family members.

“Kids and dogs. Remember, it’s hot out there for the dogs, too, so you want to keep them cool as well.”

Beattie says customers are very open that they’re buying those small pools specifically for their dogs.
