The YMCA MobYle is fun on wheels

Coming to a playground in Timmins several times this summer is a fun-filled truck from the YMCA.

“It’s our MobYle and it visits different parks throughout the city,” says Y regional manager Courtney Berlinghoff, “and I have two staff that fo around it it and they provide free programming and activities for children that are at the park at that time.”

In the truck are what’s needed for games and activities, allowing the kids to tell the Y workers what they want to do. And it’s all free.

“They have a wide range of activities. Sometimes there’s younger children there, we will have bubbles or sidewalk chalk,” outlines Berlinghoff. “Other times if there’s older children around, we can do like baseball or soccer. So really they can cater to what the children at the park want to do.”

There’s no charge for the service.  You can learn more on the YMCA MobYle Facebook page. Our interview with Berlinghoff is posted below.
