A hockey game between the Timmins Professional Firefighters Association Inferno and Timmins and District Hospital doctors Code Blue will support two families with severe medical issues.
The game is this Sunday at 6:30pm at the Archie Dillion Sportsplex. Firefighter Andrew Hubbert says one family is that of two-month-old Benjamin Elliott. He was born at 25 weeks gestation and is in hospital in Toronto. His family needs help with living expenses and essential items for Benjamin.
“The other is Logan Armitage,” adds Hubbert. “He is an eight-year-old boy and was recently diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy and so his parents are looking to get some funds to help out with his disease as it progresses.”
Tickets are $10.00, available at the Timmins fire hall.
“If you’re not able to make it to the fire hall to pick them up, they will be available at the front door, Hubbert advises. “You can also call the fire hall and see if you can get a firefighter to deliver a ticket to you.”
Timbits hockey will be featured at the game. So will a silent auction and an opportunity to shoot pucks at the net and win $10,000.
