Flood Advisory Committee says stay away from local waterways

Despite the forecast of up to 12 cm of new snow by sometime Tuesday, temperatures above the freezing mark will keep the spring melt going.

The Timmins Flood Advisory Committee says flooding is not anticipated yet along local water courses, but it’s still early and that could change.

So it’s advising against going out on any lakes, rivers and streams, and especially to keep your kids away.

Water safety risk includes:

-Porcupine Lake

-Mattagami River

-Town Creek

-Kamiskotia Lake

-Porcupine River

-Crawford Creek
