Our Amazing Natural Resources! The Malette family has a long history with those resources.

And Gaétan? Let’s just say that natural resources are part of his DNA.

Why should someone vote for you?

My resumé speaks for itself. It is also clear that a new Conservative government is about to take office. As a member of the governing party I will have a direct line and relationship with the PMO, cabinet and the CPC national caucus.

What are potential solutions to housing affordability and homelessness?

First and foremost stop promising that the government is going to build homes. Justin Trudeau, and now Mark Carney have made promises to double housing starts as if the federal government builds homes. It does not. The CPC is committed to creating a climate across Canada that will allow builders in all communities to get more homes built. On the homeless front, we need big solutions because this is a big problem.

What are you hearing when door-knocking?

There is an overwhelming desire for change. Liberals have held the reins long enough. Residents across the riding have expressed tremendous concern about the high cost of housing, the carbon tax, and the increase in crime being committed, especially by those who are granted bail under an extremely liberal judicial system crafted over many years by lenient liberal lawyers. They want those trends reversed.

What would you do about cost of living pressures in your riding?

Eliminate all carbon taxes, completely and immediately. Our party has also promised meaningful income tax reductions for those who need it most and we will allow tradespeople across the country to enjoy the same tax benefits that corporate CEO’s now enjoy.

What is your position on tariffs and the trade war?

Like the rest of Canada – we vehemently oppose this unnecessary and damaging tariff war initiated by the White House and the architects of Project 2025. Our party joins all Canadians who stand united that this tariff war is unjustified, unwarranted, and unwise.

Are there any final thoughts on any topic that you would like to share?

No. I believe the public is well-informed. And I believe they are motivated for change.

If you win your district, what would you say on election night so we can have quotes ready?

That’s a remarkably presumptive question – you will have to be there on election night and I will have kind words whether I am victorious or not.
