Timmins Falls in Recent MoneySense Rankings

The 2017 ranking for the “Best Places to Live in Canada” by MoneySense Magazine is out and Timmins has dropped down in the list.

Last year Timmins took the 98th spot, but this year’s ranking put the city at 225th. This list ranks 417 cities and towns with a minimum population of 9,000 people in categories such as unemployment, housing, weather and crime.

Mayor Steve Black says most cities in Northern Ontario saw a drop in the ranks.

Black says the city is looking at ways to raise it’s ranking.

For the second year in a row, Ottawa ranked number one.
