Teachers within the Northeastern Catholic District School Board are now implementing what they learned from Indigenous Cultural Competency Training into the classroom.
As part of the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to action, the school board is training all of its teachers about Indigenous and Metis culture. Supervisor of Indigenous Education Kristine Arthur says they learned about the history and some best practices to work with students.
Arthur says all teachers within the district will have this training done by the end of next year so they can move onto phase two.
