Spaghetti supper funds activities at youth centre in South Porcupine

Youth Unlimited Timmins – which runs The Spot youth centre in a former church in South Porcupine – is raising money for its operations with a spaghetti supper.

Executive director Louis St. Jean says the centre runs two structured programs every week: one for Grades 5 to 8 and one for high schoolers.

It operates solely on donations from individuals, businesses and churches.

St. Jean says the spaghetti fundraiser is at First Baptist Church on Second Ave. in Timmins.

“It’s on May 5th. The doors’ll open at 5:30pm and the supper will be served at 6:00pm,” he notes. “It’s only donation based. This is something that we really find important. So if families want to come and they want to give $20, they can give $20. If families want to come and they want to give $200, they can give $200.”

A silent auction is also planned at the supper.
