We’re expecting to hear more on Wednesday about an incident Tuesday evening, outside the Comfort Inn on Algonquin Blvd. E., just outside Schumacher.
Timmins Police communications coordinator Marc Depatie tells My Timmins Now Dot Com that several first response agencies are in on the investigation of what he calls the “serious incident”, the exact nature of which was being determined. He adds that it was isolated and there is no direct threat to public safety.
“We fully appreciate the fact that rumours and speculation will take hold on social media,” Depatie remarks. “We would appreciate it if the public would allow us to conduct our duties, and then inform the public appropriately.”
Neither can any fatality be conclusively confirmed yet.
